National Bologna reports

With their joint national Bologna reports the German federal government and the Länder provide an overview of the status of the higher education reforms with regard to the Bologna process at regular intervals. The reports also serve as international reports in the European context. The Accreditation Council regularly contributes to the preparation of the reports.

Recommendations of the German Council of Science and Humanities

The → German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) (Wissenschaftsrat) provides advice to the German Federal Government and the State (Länder) Governments on the structure and development of higher education and research. It regularly takes a stance on interdisciplinary issues of the academic system and gives recommendations for further development.

The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) are the joint referential framework for quality assurance within the European higher education area. They were adapted in May 2005 by the ministers responsible for the higher education system at the Bologna follow-up conference in Bergen and were updated during the follow-up conference in Jerewan. The Accreditation Council has extensively taken the ESG into account in its accreditation regulations.

Quality assurance in teaching and learning is a basic prerequisite for the creation of the European higher education area. Ministers responsible for higher education regularly agree on common objectives in quality assurance with their declarations and communiqués.

The ECTS Users' Guide provides guidelines for implementation of the European Credit Transfer and Accu mulation System (ECTS). It also presents the ECTS key documents and assists learners, academic and administrative staff in higher education institutions as well as other interested parties.

As a convention on the recognition of qualifications concerning higher education in the european region the Lisbon Recognition Convention stipulates major principles with regard to the recognition of qualifications giving access to higher education, periods of study and higher education qualifications. .
